Childhood Diseases

Please note that these lists are not comprehensive, and if you have any doubt, call your doctor immediately. The younger the child, the sooner you should visit your doctor.

When to see a doctor:

  • A baby of six months or younger shows signs of a temperature, or an older baby with a temperature greater than 38.5 C
  • Your baby vomits with great force after every meal, and is not gaining weight
  • there is blood in your baby's urine or stools
  • Your baby has large, frequent loose stools with vomiting or any other abnormal stool
  • If vomit is stained green (keep it and show it to your doctor)
  • Your baby is listless and does not feed well
  • There is any swelling that does not appear normal
  • There is a loose of weight or refusal to feed
  • Bulging fontanels (soft spot on head)
  • Rapid breathing
  • Noisy or difficult breathing
